BASF – Large-scale heat pump: Installation work progressing according to schedule
Further important progress has been made in the construction of the industrial large-scale heat pump at BASF’s Ludwigshafen site. Key plant components are already in place, while installation and structural steelwork continue to advance steadily.

Following the successful delivery and positioning of the first compressor units in July, implementation of the large-scale project continues according to schedule. Delivery of the remaining units is planned for November.
Important installation milestones have also been achieved for other key components:
The evaporator stage, condensate vessels, pumps and heat exchangers have been fully installed.
The current focus is on structural steelwork as well as piping and ducting installation. The steel structures for the deaerator tower, flash vessel tower and evaporator tower have already been completed. Ducting for the evaporator stage and the first sections of piping within the overall system have also been installed. The next steps include the structural steelwork for the compressor units and the continuation of piping installation.

At the same time, work on the technical infrastructure is progressing. All frequency converters for the compressors have already been delivered. The installation of the cable trays and cabling work in the electrical switchgear building have also begun.
The project therefore remains on schedule.
