ECO2CELL Cube reaches next regulatory milestone
The ECO2CELL Cube has successfully passed a key regulatory milestone in Attnang-Puchheim, Austria.
The regulatory approval to modify the existing permitted facility by constructing and operating the CO₂ electrolysis pilot plant was received.
The project was approved on the basis of the submitted project documentation and safety concepts.
ECO2CELL supported by Green Frontrunner program
The development of ECO2CELL, GKT’s technology for industrial CO₂ valorization, has been selected for funding under Austria’s Green Frontrunner program.
The initiative supports internationally oriented R&D projects in climate and environmental technologies and strengthens the development of scalable solutions for industrial CO₂ utilization.
CO₂ valorization unit by GKT in operation
The first CO₂ valorization unit supplied by GKT is in operation at Liquid Sun’s demonstration plant in Tampere, Finland.
Operating since 2024, the plant serves as a demonstration platform for low-temperature electrolysis technology.
